Meet Jetski, Pacemaker, and Zen
Meet Jet Ski, Pacemaker, and Zen- they all started out hiking solo but kept finding each other on the trail and decided to keep hiking together.
Jet Ski got his trail name because he used to work at a Kawasaki shop and obtained his name when section hiking with his son. He’s from New Orleans and decided he wanted to hike the AT in one shot when he retired.
Pacemaker is from MA and got her name because all the guys she hangs around are older ( and she’s always checking stats like heart rate). She decided to get on the trail after completing the NH48, falling in love with hiking, and leaving a job she hated. She kept telling herself she wished she could be that kind of person who just did it, and eventually once you tell yourself that enough you will do it.
Zen is from Ohio and got his trail name because he was the oldest and brings zen wherever he goes. He section hiked in VA with his daughter and once retiring felt like he needed to end with something BIG and thru hiking the AT was it!
All three of these awesome humans said the hardest part of hiking the AT is “ just getting started, everything else comes once you start”.
