Meet Dr. Sriracha

Meet Dr. Sriracha! She is in fact a real doctor who got her trail name for handing out packets of Sriracha to other hikers! She is originally from Texas (that explains the heat!) and just graduated with PhD. in Bio Physics from a school in Maryland.

Why did she get on trail? Dr. Sriracha said going to school in Maryland got her into hiking and she spent a lot of time on the Appalachian Trail doing day hikes.

After graduating, she wanted a break from all the school work and research she has been doing for the past 10-years, and decided she wanted to thru-hike the AT as another goal for herself. She started her trail journey at Harper’s Ferry, going NoBo to Katahdin before swinging back to Georgia and hiking to Georgia and hiking to Harper’s Ferry - this is known as a wrap around.
